Is Climb for the Cure for Beginners or Experts?

We are recommending that you are in good to great physical health and have experience riding and even racing on a bike. 30 miles mostly uphill is no joke! And anticipate a 3-5 hour excursion for this route.

What are all the racing categories ?

There will be a total of six race categories;
Age 16-40 year: Male & Female
41-60 years: Male & Female
61 and up: Male & Female

Category winner will receive a $500.00 check,
Second place $300.00,
Third place $200.00.
All other places through eighth place will receive incrementally lesser amounts in either cash or bike shop gift cards or discounts.

The overall fastest timed male  and fastest timed female will be crowned “King of the Mountain" winner regardless of age and receive an additional $500.00 each.

How many racers can race? 

The race is limited to no more than 450 racers. So sign up!

Do I have to be present to receive my awards?

Yes. If you are not present we will move on to the next fastest time til the award(s) can be given.

What if I break down while riding? 

This is a fully self-supported race. Bring anything and everything you think you might need to finish your race.

Where is the post-race celebration?

Selkirk Lodge. Where there will be food, and beverages and awards, raffles, and more.

Can my spouse, friend, family member drive separately and meet me at the top? 

YES! We welcome friends and family to cheer as their riders finish at the top of Mt. Spokane and all are welcome at Selkirk Lodge to celebrate.

Why is there prize money at a fundraiser?

Well maybe the cash will get donated back? But this electronically timed race is strictly a fundraising event for amateur bicyclists and is not sanctioned by any race body or organization. Prize money is for rider motivation and adding some additional excitement to the ride.

Why is there a $10 processing fee?

Great question! The registration company charges that fee (not C4C) even though we are a non-profit.

What if I'm not a "racer", can I still ride?

100% Yes, while it is a timed race - the ride itself is beautiful and challenging for anyone who would like to come support cancer research and loves to ride. All are welcome.
